Somercotes police probe launched

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted outside a pub in Somercotes.

A 35-year-old man was assaulted outside the Royal Tiger Inn, Nottingham Road, between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday, July 28.

The victim was struck on the head with what he believes to be a metal chain, which caused a cut to his head.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and later released. The offender is described as a white man, around 5ft 11 inches, approximately 30-years-old and of heavy build. He was wearing a dark coloured vest top and was wearing a thick chain around his neck.
