Kidsley Grange nursing home in Smalley has received a glowing Care Quality Commision report.

A Smalley nursing home has been given a glowing report by the Care Quality Commision (CQC).

Staff at the Kidsley Grange home, which cares for 26 elderly residents in a converted farm house on Heanor Road in the village was given high praise by the Government Watchdog in its latest report from an inspection in January.

The report found “people had positive experiences,” and that “care plans were well written and person centred”.

Manager Rachel Tattershaw said: “I’m absolutely thrilled that we have had such a good report. We’re always getting great feedback from families and residents but it’s a real morale booster, for both me and the team who have worked so hard over the last year, to get something positive from the CQC.”

Upcoming plans of the new home include a scheme to refurbish all of the bathrooms, install new wet rooms, a modern full–assist bathroom as well as opening up the outside space with a large decking area.
