A skate park in Leabrooks has been revamped with a £11,000 boost from Somercotes Parish Council.
The makeover has seen two ramps and four pieces of equipment for stunts added to the skate park on Sherwood Street, which was originally founded ten years ago.
Councillor Paul Smith said: “It’s been really well used by the young people - we thought it would be a nine-day wonder but it’s been used constantly and provided a great play area. They have respected it and used it positively. The young people are really enjoying it. The only problem was they couldn’t wait for it to be completed! It was opened in time for the start of the school holidays.”
