Shoplifting soars by 17% in Alfreton

Police have released CCTV images in connection with a string of shoplifting offences in Amber Valley.

Offences have risen in the Amber Valley over the last few months of this financial year by 17 per cent compared to the same period last year, and police say they want to put a stop to the trend.

The incidents happened between April and December 2013 at shops in Alfreton, Belper, Ripley, Somercotes and Langley Mill.

Items such as alcohol, food, clothes, electrical equipment, and also cash, have been stolen.
