Seventh heaven for Ambergate as they see off Rovers Reserves

Allestree, who were promoted at the end of last season, have certainly come to terms with life in the Premier Division of the Midlands Regional Alliance.
For proof of this, witness their 1-0 victory over last season’s runners-up Melbourne Dynamo on Saturday, with Nick Pearson hitting the all-important goal.
In Division One, Bargate Rovers came up against the form team in Pastures and lost 4-1, Shane Briddon scoring for Bargate.
It was such a good day for Little Eaton either as they lost 3-1 away at Woolley Moor United, Jamie Ashley supplying the sole Eaton score.
In Division Two, the Reserves of both Little Eaton and Bargate tasted defeat, Little Eaton going down 4-1 at Shardlow St.James with Dan Buckley scoring for Eaton.
As for Rovers Reserves, they lost 7-0 at high flying Ambergate. Sam Hicking and Jody Waldron both scored a brace in the win for Ambergate with the other goals coming from Andy Stevenson,Shaun Bestwick and Matthew McGill.
Elsewhere, although Guy Wilding scored for Swanwick Pentrich Road away at Newhall United, it was still not enough to save Swanwick,who started the day in runner-up spot in the Premier Division, from a 4-1 defeat.
Ripley Town had the big win of the day in Division One as they beat Mackworth St.Francis 5-2.
