Plans have been drawn up to replace worn-out buildings at Aldercar Community Language College as the county council agrees funding of £7.4million.

Work at the college is expected to start towards the end of the summer term and will see the current timber-framed block at the school in Dalton Close, Langley Mill, will be knocked down to make way for a state-of-the-art building.

The first phase of the project will see the replacement of most of the main block with a three-storey building.
