The children at Ripley Junior School spent a week collecting their pennies to donate them to charity.
On Thursday, June 26, they used the coppers to spell out HfH, as the cash raised is being donated to Help for Heroes. They managed to raise £199.12p.
The donation is to coincide with Armed forces day, and the children have spent the week doing projects and activities to commemorate World War One.
Head teacher Susan Stack said “The children are always eager to help with fundraising, and I felt this was an extremely worthwhile cause to support. A big thank you to everyone who helped to raise the money.”
