Road accident at Buckland Hollow

A man believed to be from Crich is critically-ill in hospital after a collision between two cars near Buckland Hollow on Saturday.

He was driving a Vauxhall Corsa along the A610 at 8.35am when the collision with a Nissan Primera happened.

The driver of the Primera was trapped in the car until fire crews released him at 9.45am. He and four passengers were taken to Nottingham’s QMC.

The Corsa driver was taken by air ambulance to North Staffordshire Hospital with head and chest injuries.

The road was closed between the Hurt Arms and Buckland Hollow until 10am.
