Restructure at Amber Valley

Amber Valley Borough Council is to undergo a managerial restructure following the departure of chief executive Peter Carney.

A two person ‘joint management’ team is to take over the running of the authority in a bid to save it more than £100,000 a year.

The new structure will see the executive director of Finance Sylvia Delahay become the director of resources and executive director of environmental Services Julian Townsend will become director of operations alongside his current role as head of paid service.

Leader of the council Stuart Bradford said that the new structure will be implemented at no additional cost.

He added: “The extensive knowledge and experience they have both accumulated will maintain future stability”.
