Rent issue anger led to damage

Anger over rent arrears led to an Alfreton teenager punching holes in the wall of his home, a court heard.

A manager of Midway Housing told Ricky Oxley he might no longer be welcome if his rent remained unpaid, prosecutor Becky Mahon told Chesterfield magistrates.

Officers searched the area and found Oxley, 18,in Mansfield Road, Alfreton. He said the conversation with the manager had made him angry.

Oxley, of Cedar Avenue, Alfreton, admitted damaging property on December 20 and breaching a one-year conditional discharge assault.

He was handed a nine-month probation supervision order and he must pay £50 compensation.
