Register your fireworks displays

Organisers of public firework displays in Amber Valley are being urged to register with a council and fire service safety scheme by the end of Friday.

The Firework Displays Voluntary Registration Scheme will award a registration disc to organisers that have provided satisfactory pre-event information.

Councillor Norman Bull said: "With more and more people preferring to attend organised public firework displays, it's important that organisers are fully aware of their health and safety responsibilities.

"It's always better to go to a properly organised display, and we hope that people will choose to attend those that have been awarded the registration disc."

A full list of registered events is available for people to view on Amber Valley Borough Council's website www.ambervalley.gov.uk.

For more information about how to register your event please contact Amber Valley Borough Council's Regulation Unit on 01773 570222. The last date for receipt of applications is October 24.
