Police hunt for attackers

Police are hunting two men who armed with a knife and a hammer entered a Somercotes house and demanded money and jewellery from the occupants.

Despite the threats the attackers fled empty handed and made off in the direction of Haston Drive. It is suspected they then got in to a silver car and drove off towards Lower Somercotes at around 9.30pm on Friday, June 22.

Nobody was injured during the incident. The man with the hammer is described as being of mixed race, about 20-years-old, of medium build, 5’10” tall, with a shaven head. He was wearing a dark jacket and grey jogging bottoms.

The second man was white, around 25 to 30-years-old, between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in tall, stocky build, with a shaved head and prominent lines around his mouth. He was wearing a blue jacket and jeans and spoke with a Nottingham accent.

Anyone who recognises the man in the E-Fit should call 101 or 0800 555 111.
