The 1st Horsley, Kilburn Scouts held their biggest fundraiser of the year at the Denby Institute at the weekend.

Scout leader Richard Ward said money raised, which was still being counted, from Saturday and Sunday’s plant sale would go towards a much needed extension at their headquarters on Highfield Road.

He said: “We want to build a new kitchen and a toilet and so hopefully we can raise enough money. We only have an outside toilet and the funds from the sale can change that. There are about 50 kids, including Scouts and Guides, who use these facilities so we need to make them better.”
