Phil feels burn after nine shop stop
NRHN 10-10-12 BE 18 Phil Brown a Age UK worker is cycling round the charity shops in Derbyshire. Cllr Paul Jones and staff welcome Phil Brown.
Self-confessed fair-weather cyclist Phil Brown raised more than £600 for Age Uk - by visiting each of the charity’s Derbyshire stores on his bike.
Dad-of-two Phil set off from the Belper outlet on Tuesday and covered 80 miles, stopping at nine stores on the way, before finishing at the Heanor Market Place shop at 1pm on Wednesday, where he works part-time. The 33-year-old dreamed up the idea while cycling into work one day. He said: “It’s nice to finally do something for the charity, rather than just work for it!”
Phil was greeted by staff at the Heanor store as well as town and borough councillor for Heanor PaulJones.
