Peak motorists warned to watch their speed
Two motorists received warning letters after a speed watch exercise.
Community Speed Watch volunteers working in Bradwell kept an eye out for vehicles travelling above the 30 mph speed limit along Main Road.
Community Speed Watch aims to raise awareness of road safety issues, local speeding limits and community concerns.
The initiative was introduced to the area, with the support of the Safer Derbyshire Dales Community Safety Partnership, back in November 2010 to help target residents concerns about the issue.
Funding was provided by Derbyshire Dales District Council for signs to make motorists aware of the checks as they approach and then anyone travelling above the limit is sent a letter to inform them about their speed.
They are also warned that if they continue to speed, they risk getting a fine and that the data recorded by the scheme will help officers identify locations for speed detection equipment.
