Passengers escape car fire on A38

A fire crew from Alfreton was called to put out the flames of a car on fire on the A38 southbound near the Ripley turn-off on Sunday at 8pm.

Two passengers had already escaped the vehicle, with the crew assisting both casualties with first aid, before making the area safe.

Delays were caused along the A38 while the car was removed from the scene.
