Oil theft

Two men were arrested and charged with theft after cooking oil was allegedly stolen from an Alfreton pub.

A member of the public alerted the police after seeing suspicious activity at the back of the Wagon and Horses pub, on King Street, at around noon on Tuesday.

Officers later found a van in Wingerworth and arrested two men from Leeds, aged 27 and 21.

The men are due to appear before North East Derbyshire magistrates on December 5. The vehicle was seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
