It’s that time of year again when we are all preparing for the sunshine, barbeques and shorts.
It also means here at Heanor Market that we start to see new traders taking up stalls on the market place.
In the last two weeks alone we have had four new traders attend, selling menswear, homewear, garden ornaments and also handbags and accessories.
It’s always nice to see new stallholders, however the real question is: now we have them here, how do we get them to stay for longer than a few weeks?
The answer: Simple really... Get up to the market and show your support for both traders old and new!
We have a delightful range of stallholders selling pet food, a bakery, men and ladies clothing, underwear, a butcher, fruit and veg, mobility scooters, books, scarves and accessories, homewear, and garden accessories.
Who knows what other types of stall may turn up this year?
It would be nice to see our new stallholders take up permanent residence on the market and maybe eventually move into the new community shop which some of you may have noticed on your travels around the High Street. This is an exiting new venture being run by Heanor Traders Association to try and encourage new businesses into the area and revive the appearance of the town.
The premises, at 1c Market Street, off the market place, are being revamped by Heanor Traders’ Association to provide a low-rent office space that can be shared by three or four new ventures.
Rents will be set at around £50 per week to entice prospective entrepreneurs and the first year’s rates will be underwritten by Amber Valley Borough Council (AVBC).
Keep your eyes open for further information which will be coming soon.
