New bobbies on the beat

Derbyshire Constabulary has seen its first intake of new recruits in almost two years.

The fifteen new staff have been formally sworn in as police officers during an attestation ceremony held at the Postmill Centre, in South Normanton.

The group of students swore an oath of allegiance to the Queen as part of the ceremony and became fully fledged police constables at the end of 19 weeks’ training they have been undergoing, said a spokesman for the constabulary.

They are pictured celebrating the milestone at the very start of their careers with the force in Derbyshire.
