Amber Valley MP Nigel Mills described marrying fiance Alice Ward on Saturday as the ‘happiest Day of my life’.
Conservative Mr Mills wed his girlfriend of six years at St Mary Undercroft Chapel in Westminster in front of family and friends. And as the happy couple took to a balcony at the entrance to the House of Commons following the ceremony, they were greeted with the site of 200 members of the public passing by on a sightseeing tour of the Lower House - who proceeded to cheer .
Friend and researcher for the MP Liam Rhodes said a good day was had by the bride and groom. He said: “Nigel had a really good time, he wrote on his Facebook site that it was the happiest day of his life.”
Mr Mills and Alice, 33, met through a mutual friend and plan to honeymoon in Australia and Hawaii.
