MP plays Santa with gift of travel

Nigel Mills, MP for Amber Valley, presented the keys of a new Motability car to a constituent from Somercotes.

Vernon Marsh, 57, has a degenerative form of muscular dystrophy and will use his vehicle as well as a mobility scooter to get around. His condition will deteriorate in the future so he will eventually have to use a wheelchair permanently. He said: “I am very grateful to Motability as my vehicle enables me to retain my independence. It is great to have the option of getting around in my car, which is also large enough to store my scooter.”

Mr Mills said: “I am delighted to see how the scheme has such a positive impact in my constituency.”
