MP launches a competition to

Eastwood MP Gloria De Piero is launching a competition to highlight how rewarding a career in manufacturing would be.

The We Made It! competition in Eastwood will invite young people aged between 13 and 16 to submit designs and ideas for gadgets, toys or tools they would like to see made.

Gloria will pick the winning entry which will then be entered into a natinal competition. The winning designs nationally will be manufactured and brought to life.

The MP will bring the winner of the local competition to a reception and awards ceremony in parliament and they will meet the heads of the manufacturing organisations involved in the project and learn how to further a career.

Gloria said “I’m very proud to be supporting this great project to help turn ideas into reality. Britain desperately needs more young people aspiring to high-level manufacturing jobs.”
