Amber Valley MP Nigel Mills joined volunteers who were laying a path at a Ripley infants school.
The Tory MP joined staff from borough housing association Futures Housing Group laying the footpath atLons Infant School in Tavistock Avenue.
The work was part of Futures’ Make a Difference Day (MADD), which takes place during National Volunteers’ Week and sees its staff get involved in community projects.
Mr Mills said: “It was great to help lay the footpath at Lons Infant School with Futures Housing Group staff as part of their MADD efforts.
“Their efforts show that volunteering can really help the local community.”
Futures chief executive Lindsey Williams said: “It was fantastic to see Nigel Mills MP at our MADD event. It was a huge volunteering effort.”
