MP backs petition against Heanor club

Amber Valley MP Nigel Mills has branded a swinger’s club in Heanor ‘distasteful’ and joined a campaign against it.

Mr Mills added his name to a petition, which now has more than 320 signatures, calling on Amber Valley Borough Council to reject a restrospective planning application for Xotix Xtreme on Heanor Gate Road.

The club, which has been open since August, has applied retrospectively to change its use from a former gym, but as yet no date has been set for the borough council planning board to make a decision.

Mr Mills said: “This kind of club is just not suitable for the area. It won’t help us build the area up – especially since they didn’t get permission in the first place.
