Marehay fundraiser set for Saturday
A Parkinson’s UK fundraiser is set for tomorrow, Saturday, September 22, at Marehay Miners’ Welfare, on Derby Road.
The fun day is to run from 2pm until 5pm featuring a bouncy castle, face painting and entertainment alongside more than 20 stalls selling everything from cakes to tombola games.
Car enthusiasts will also be able to view three DeLorean sports cars there.
Then from 7pm until 11pm, an auction will take place at the welfare. More than 90 lots are to feature including a signed tennis dress worn by world number one Anna Ian Ivanovic, a 4d baby scan, days out to UK theme parks and golf lessons.
Organisers Ian and Zena Sharpe of Mill Lane, Codnor, say the charity is close to their heart.
Ian said: “Hopefully people will come down and have a really good time - and we can raise some good money for the charity in the process.”
