Man arrested on suspicion of drugs and burglary charges

A Heanor man is being questioned by police after he was found in possession of suspected drugs and jewellery officers believe to have been stolen.

Officers were patrolling Ilkeston yesterday afternoon (Monday, February 25) when they pulled over a suspicious car in Beauvale Drive, Cotmanhay.

The driver was searched and found to be in possession of suspected cannabis and a large amount of cash. Police searched the car and found more suspected drugs and jewellery, which officers think could have been stolen during a burglary.

The 31-year-old remains in custody and is being questioned.
