Laptop burglars caught in the act

A patrolling bobby foiled a pair of burglars as they tried to take laptops from a Heanor shop.

A passer dialled 999 when they saw two men breaking in to AA Computers on Church Street at 4.30am on Thursday.

The raiders had broken into the shop via a front door and had lifted eight laptops. But an on duty officer arrived at the scene within minutes causing the men to flee empty handed and dump the computers in a nearby alleyway. A backup unit was called and sniffer dog team attempted to track the men by searching the area, although they were not found.

If you have any information which could help police, call the force non-emergency number 101.
