Young footballers from Aldercar are set to take on police in a charity match to help raise money for a local boy to have an operation which could help him walk normally.
The Aldercar youth football team, who are aged between 14 and 19, are challenging officers from the Langley Mill and Heanor Safer Neighbourhood policing teams, response and licensing officers to a match in Loscoe.
It is to help raise money for Theo’s Wish to Walk campaign, set up to help Theo Hunt, a young boy from Underwood who has spastic diplegia and needs a special operation to increase the movement in his legs.
The game will take place on Sunday, August 10, at the Charles Hill playing fields. Kick-off is at 2pm.
There will also be a raffle with prizes following donations from both Derby County and Nottingham Forest.
