Invite to meet the Queen

Easwtood and Kimberley couples are being invited to meet the Queen as she visits Nottingham as part of the jubilee celebrations.

The Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire wants to hear from couples who are celebrating their Diamond wedding anniversary this year, or people who were born on Accession Day.

People will then be picked to meet the Queen in Nottingham on June 13 as she visits the city with the Duke of Edinburgh as part of a tour of the UK.

All applications should be sent to Mrs Gaynor Brown, Clerk to the Lieutenacny, 23 Beckingthorpe Drive, Bottesford, Notts NG13 0DN by Friday 4 May.

Accession Day is February 6 1952 and is when the Queen came to the thrown.
