Housing complex evacuated after fire

Alfreton fire crews were called out when a smoke alarm sounded at a sheltered housing complex on Glebe Close in South Normanton last night.

A 999 call was made around 8.30pm on Wednesday, February 20. When crews arrived they found an electrical fire on the ground floor. All residents were evacuated safely, and firefighters had made the scene safe by 9.10pm.
