Line dancing fundraisers made £2,300 for the Derbyshire,Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance after a day of move-strutting in South Normanton.

The Crooked Line Dance Club, which meets at the Somerlea Park Community Centre, Somercotes, held a sponsored day-long line dance at the Post Mill Centre in the village back in October. This week they presented the air ambulance with the cheque.

Club member and organiser Jean Corby, 71, of Pine Close, Ripley, said the group has made nearly £25,000 for charities since it began fundraising in 1999. “But without everyone’s support we could not have achieved this amount,” she added.
