Talented young students from the Ripley Academy of Dance have come out tops in their latest exams.

The dance school, which teaches a wide range of different styles, has seen students excel in their Royal Academy of Dance exams.

Felicity Cuttings, principal of the Cromford Road academy proudly told the Ripley & Heanor News of the success.

She said: “We’ve just had our Royal Academy of Dance results back which have been fantastic.

“All of the students
received really high marks and in particular two of our senior students have managed to achieve their intermediate examinations.”

Grace Hollis, 19, of Street Lane, Ripley, and Emily Wilby, 16, of Allestree, who was featured in the News for her part in English Youth Ballet’s performance of the Nutcracker, did well.

Felicity added: “This
examination is one of the most prestigious exams youngsters can take in the Ballet world and to not only pass but to gain a merit and distinction is absolutely
outstanding.”
