A school for children with special educational needs is set to benefit from the Charlotte Blackman Memorial Fund in the shape of a new mini-bus. The Blackman family lost their daughter Charlotte to a freak landslide in July 2012 and soon after set up the fund to help autistic and vulnerable children. During her lifetime, 22-year-old Charlotte worked closely with children with learning difficulties. Now the family have donated Bennerley Fields School in Ilkeston with a new bus to use on school trips.
Mum Rachel said: “This will help them go on swimming trips and to travel up to the Peak District, it will really help get them out in the community.”
