The Nottingham Canal at Langley Mill, taken by John Dunstan

The Nottingham Canal at Langley Mill, taken by John Dunstan

This stunning picture was taken on a frosty morning along the old towpath to the Nottingham Canal at Langley Mill.

It was submitted by reader John Dunstan, from Langley Mill. The canal was opened in 1796 and runs from Langley Mill and Nottingham and closed in 1937. Sections of it were filled in from 1955.

It was almost 15 miles long and parts are now used for fishing and for nature.

Send in your pictures of the canal too.
