Five arrested after Long Eaton assault

Five people have been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Long Eaton.

Police were called to Clifford Street at around 2am on Sunday June 17 after a member of the public found a man unconscious in a front garden.

The 28-year-old was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham with head injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.

Witnesses said a group of people had been seen leaving the street in a car.

Officers searched the area and arrested three men and two women in a car in connection with the assault.

They have been questioned and released on bail.

Police closed the road while inquiries were conducted.
