Fire crews called to house crash in Shipley - UPDATED

A man has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs after driving his car into the garden of a Shipley house last night.

Police and fire crews from Ilkeston and Heanor were called to the Hassock Lane South home at 11.30pm last night.

A 27-year-old man from Mapperley had already escaped the vehicle when the emergency services arrived. Police say he was found with a substance believed t be the class A drug ketamine and.

The man has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
