Driver injured after collision in Marlpool

A 47-year-old man was taken to hospital with severe whiplash after a two car smash on Breach Road, Marlpool, last night.

His Ford Escort had collided with a Peugeot 407 at around 9.45pm, causing the road to be blocked for two-and-a-half hours while both vehicles were recovered and the debris cleared.

The fire service and police helped remove the man from the Escort and he was taken to hospital by ambulance. He has since been discharged.

Both vehicles were recovered at 12.20am and the road was reopened shortly after.
