Diesel spill causes collision in Codnor

A ROAD had to be closed for nearly eight ours in Codnor yesterday, while a response team cleared a large diesel spillage.

High Holborn View was shut from noon until nearly 8pm while a team from Derbyshire County Council’s Highways department worked to clear the spillage on Codnor Gate Industrial Estate.

A woman driving a silver Vauxhall Corsa was injured, police say, as she tried to avoid the spill.

Her injuries were not thought to be serious.
