Derbyshire police team which tackles extremism to host online discussion

A TEAM of Derbyshire police officers which works with communities to prevent violent extremism is hosting an on-line discussion.

Officers from the Community Engagement Team will host a virtual surgery on Tuesday, August 9.

By logging onto the surgery section of the police website www.derbyshire.police.uk, people can speak to officers between 7pm and 8pm.

People can find out more about the work the team does to tackle extremism and hate crime.

The team has recently launched a Facebook page and for the first time, the force will use posters featuring a Quick Response (QR) code to advertise the page.

People can use their smart phone to scan the code and in turn, they will receive a link to the Facebook page. Posters and leaflets featuring the code have been distributed to mosques, community centres and business in Derby.
