Cyclist injured in Heage

A cyclist suffered multiple fractures after a collision with a breakdown truck in Heage on Friday.

The incident happened on New Road at 7.40pm and involved a bike and a Mitsubishi Canter.

A 43-year-old Belper man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. He has been bailed to appear in court.

The male cyclist suffered a fractured hip and femur and possibly a fractured shoulder.

The road was closed until 10.20pm.
