Start-up businesses are being offered the chance to set up shop at Amber Valley borough Council headquarters on Market Place in Ripley.
The authority says the scheme could involve using the offices as an address and mail forwarding facility or as a ‘virtual office’, providing telephone and IT support, reception services, office accommodation and meeting rooms.
Cllr Liz Bowley said: “Renting office accommodation can be expensive and off-putting for some and that’s where our idea may help.
“We could offer great flexibility, no overheads and a professional mail and call handling service for businesses.
“We can also provide advice on how to gain funding, dealing with regulation and understanding employment law.”

Last week Derbyshire County Council announced it was still considering taking up office space at the Amber Valley Headquarters.
