Co-op cash for new YMCA centre kitchen

The Midlands Co-operative Society has donated £4,000 to Ilkeston’s YMCA centre towards a new state-of-the-art kitchen.

The donation will enable young people enrolled on the YMCA’s training programmes at its centre on Coronation Street in Ilkeston to develop independent living skills and extra qualifications.

Hazel Lloyd, YMCA Derbyshire’s Deputy Locality Manager, said: “We are extremely grateful to the Midlands Co-operative Society, who have been at the heart of the local community for as long as the YMCA, for their support and clear commitment to the value and potential of our young people.”
