Charity craft fair for centre

A CRAFT fair is being held at the Dora Phillips Hall in Eastwood to raise money for the running of the hall.

There will be soft furnishings, jewellery, papercraft, woolcrafts, brooches, candles, books, soaps, cakes and jams. There will be the chance for kids to have a go at making a craft of their own.

Dora Phillips Hall committee member Emma Glebocki said: “The committee feels that as a charity it is important to encourage as many users as possible so we really do rely on events such as these to keep the centre running.”

The centre was initially set up to accommodate the lack of meeting places for girl groups. It is used by St John’s Ambulance cadets, Girl Guides, Art classes, Weight Watchers, the WI and keep fit classes.

The craft fair will take place on May 6 from 10.30am.
