Caravaners spooked by orb sighting

Strange orbs of light photographed at a caravan park near Ironville have left people in the area mystified.

The photograph of the mysterious floating balls of light was taken on New Year's Day at the Golden Valley Caravan Park by a holiday maker.

Darren Fretwell, owner of the park, says that the picture has got him spooked.

He said: "I thought it was a picture of the moon at first, or that water had got on the camera lens, but it was a dry day, so I had to rule that out. The more you look at the picture, the more mysterious it becomes.

"I e-mailed the photo to a Pagan woman I know and she says it is a strong spiritual area due to an old burial ground nearby. I have never been spooked by anything here before but now our dog only seems to bark when it gets to the trees where the 'orbs' appeared.

"I have always been open-minded about the afterlife and I believe a lot of bizarre things can be explained. But I can't explain this."

The photograph was taken by Sandra Osgathorpe close to where she and her husband were holidaying.
