Car fire in Golden Valley on Sunday

Alfreton fire crews were called to the Golden Valley at the weekend after a fire in a car.

Flames were spotted in the engine compartment of the vehicle just before 1am on Sunday morning at Codnor Lane.

Fire fighters attended only to make the vehicle safe as onlookers had already extinguished the flames, leaving the scene at 2am.
