A Heanor firm had to be evacuated when a sports car hit its premises on High Street shortly after 3pm on Tuesday.

A Heanor firm had to be evacuated when a sports car hit its premises on High Street shortly after 3pm on Tuesday.

Staff at KLN Accountancy Services were given a shock when the blue Porsche Carrera span in the wet conditions and collided with the front wall of the building.

The road was closed completely for an hour as Heanor fire fighters assessed the damage to the premises. Structural engineers were later called to the scene.

Owner of the business Kym Needham said: “All the staff jumped out their seats. We looked up and saw the car in the middle of the road - there were kids in the back of the car and I was concerned about them really.”

PC Rich Martin attending the scene said the car driver and three passengers were unhurt. He added that police were unsure how the collsion occurred at this stage.
