A SECOND flood warning has been issued for the area - after water levels rose overnight on the River Derwent.

The Environment Agency said flooding of low-lying agricultural land and roads is possible at Cromford, Whatstandwell, Belper, Duffield, Milford and Little Eaton.

The warning comes after residents living near the River Amber in Amerbgate were yesterday put on alert.

River levels are still rising following last night’s rain. The current level at Matlock is 2.49 metres.

Prolonged heavy rain over the past week has led to the warnings.
