The car which collided with the house during the early hours of this morning

A man has been taken to hospital after a car hit a house in Ilkeston in the early hours of this morning and the vehicle ended up on its roof.

The incident, which involved a black Alfa Romeo, happened on Lord Haddon Road at approximately 1.10am.

Firefighters said that the car crashed into a stationary vehicle, a Skoda Fabia, before crashing ininto a house.

Police and an ambulance crew also attended the scene in which the Alfa Romeo was found overturned.

Both people in the car managed to climb out of the vehicle. One man was taken to hospital for treatment for a head injury but it is not thought to be life-threatening.

The area has been cordoned off while police clean up the remaining debris and investigate.

A 28-year-old man has now been arrested in connection with the incident.
