Break-in at Awsworth shop

Thieves raided a shop in Awsworth escaping with handfuls of cigarettes last night (Wednesday), police have said.

The intruders forced the shutters to get into the Nisa supermarket in The Lane, Awsworth, at about 11pm.

Nottinghamshire police have been looking at CCTV since the break-in in a bid to identify the offenders.

A force spokesman said there may be more details of the break-in revealed later today.

He asked residents who receive ‘unsolicited offers’ of cigarettes for sale to contact them.

Witnesses or anyone with any information should call 101, extension 811 6620.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
