Friends and family of a brave teenager battling a brain tumour came together at the weekend for a fundraising day for a children’s charity.

The big day, held at Marehay Miners’ Welfare saw Ryan Coutts, 14, from Ripley and his family and friends add £4,160 to their already impressive
total of over £6,000 which will go to the Children’s
Brain Tumour Research charity based at the
University of Nottingham.

The money was raised with an array of food, game and craft stalls, sponsored head shaves and a charity auction which
included items such as former Derby County players
Andre Wisdom and George Thorne’s Play-Off Final boots, motorcycle rider John Kirkham’s leathers,
British Superbike tickets and
luxury car rides.
